--not that it RAINS here--that's only a metaphor. (sob * wail * rain dance) The rain goes AROUND the Dallas area. People, take care of that Feng Shui cleanup, pronto.

Okay, TODAY I got e-mail from ANOTHER agent, one who represents mostly mysteries, asking for the first five chapters of _Nice Work_ in response to a query I sent last month. Methinks (or at least mesuspects) it's time for me to call upon the mighty coneycat and possibly the mighty dennis_havens to look through that first chapter to see if there's any tightening to be done. In fact, I may post the first few pages here, if that's the easiest way for people to glance through them.

Then I'll get that mailed. Although I would still definitely go with my Agent #1 with it, if she'll take a cozy mystery . . . her website says that she handles other things and not those, so if she doesn't, y'know.

I mean, it can't hurt to answer this one, too, right? Seeing as how I don't have a contract in hand, but the promise of an offer, it should still be OK. Let me know if you don't think it is, though.

In other news . . . My friendly acquaintance Lawrence Watt-Evans reaches "condition ENDROPE=.TRUE" and spits out what he's thinking about all these How To Rite Uh Novel groups. Whew! But I do know where he's coming from. I was just about at that point t'other day.
