Happy New Year! Welcome 2008!
Jan. 1st, 2008 12:44 amHappy New Year!
May it bring a change for the better to each of us!
We just joined the neighbors across the street* in a spontaneous shout-and-whistle stomp around the yards. "Happy New Year! Happy New Year to the world!" shouted their youngest. Their horns honked. My Pom barked. They started snapping Christmas crackers and lit up the sparklers, so the Pom and I went inside (he doesn't like noises like that.) Dallas had its own fireworks show downtown and everything. Good for Dallas. We should've started doing that years ago!
* (Mostly the teenagers and kids. The adults were inside, singing "Auld Lang Syne" and dancing in a hora-circle. I suspect there was much imbibing.)
My biggest problem is gonna be remembering to write "2008" on all my checks and documents. I had just barely started to be comfy with "2007." I still have to fight writing "19--" on stuff!
May it bring a change for the better to each of us!
