This post contains rebellious, unpopular, nonconformist content. (It contains content? Naturellement.) Skip if you are on the boat with an existing party.
For those of you who are like me and feel dumped by the "Democratic" (*ha*) party, here's a great new site. Party Unity, My A$$. Don't go here if you are gulping the Kool-Aid (which is of course your privilege, as it is ours to disagree and peel off--make like a banana and peel, make like a tree and leave.) Don't go here just to post that you don't agree . . . there are SO MANY Obamacentric sites already that need to hear from you and would appreciate your support. But if you feel that we are out of good options and need a third party, this might be for you.
Some of you are all for one of the existing candidates. This is fine! This is your privilege! We are simply exercising our privilege to disagree. This is why James Madison wrote his changes into the Constitution and Bill of Rights--he wanted us to be free to disagree (peacefully). I've found that when you set out to change someone's mind on a political issue, you only succeed in causing anger and hostility; change comes when someone investigates on his or her own. Therefore, this is not a request that anyone change or investigate. It's just an informational post for those who have been feeling abandoned.
To join the PUMA PAC (political action committee), see the site. You can join by simply sending an e-mail message.
FWIW, I think WHOEVER takes over as Prez/VP is in a kettle of boiling water. If I had the money that any of these candidates have, I would buy a house on the coast in California or Hawaii, do a few laps in my swimming pool, and then settle down with the dog in my lap and write books. Man, do they EVER have a platform--and what more could one want but a guaranteed audience for one's books, fiction or nonfiction? (But then I am a novelist, not an extrovert bordering on exhibitionist, which is what a politician has to be. And I don't think that *any* public policy can fix what's wrong with our world. It's apparently time for our civilization to fall, as have all the other great civilizations before it--alas.) So I don't care if you join this PAC, join another PAC, or become a hermit. Still, at any rate, it's good to have the choice.
