Sep. 8th, 2008 06:55 pmDo you ever marvel at "what goes on nowadays" and wonder how in the world people can possibly navigate the new minefields of dating, flirting, and living in chaos? Where in the world did all of this New Permissiveness come from ("and where can we get a piece of it?" I hear D. H. murmuring. Down, boy!) Well, wonder no more.
"All of this fornication is a horrible modern thing brought on by television and video games and BOOKS!”

(DON'T turn on your flamethrowers just yet--she's quoting someone in order to knock down their strawman argument. Go see, if you feel like it.)
In other news, a friend sends the info that "Russell Stover has kicked the sorry li'l butt of Cadbury with their fall offering of 'Buzzard Eggs.' So far I've tried Vanilla with Caramel and Marshmallow with Caramel. YUMATIVE! See them at local mercantiles. It's a moral imperative!"
For those of you who can eat such things . . . go have one for the ol' Glimper. (And all diabetics everywhere.)
Gotta go wipe the drool off now. . . .

Date: 2008-09-09 02:22 am (UTC)Fornication certainly was a major force in my twelve completed books (and two or three I've yet to finish), but I would never call it a NEW phenomenon. "A horrible modern thing?" Remind me sometime to tell you about all the 7-month pregnancies I learned about, working on my family's genealogy. Or the surprising number of 1st-cousin marriages through the years, including one between two Quaker Havenses, that got them kicked "out of Meeting."
I'll be privileged to go woof down a couple of Buzzard Eggs in your honor. If I don't have Diabetes by now, they're not going to cause it...or ARE they?
