The ten days of contemplation and self-searching that started on Rosh Hashanah are over. Today--not only this day, but especially on this day--Jews celebrating Yom Kippur (the Day of Atonement) ask forgiveness. Not just from God, but from anyone. They also accept forgiveness.

Sounds good to me. So I gacked this from [livejournal.com profile] emcue:

If I've wronged you in any way this past year, I ask you to forgive me. I am sorry and I apologize for anything I may have done to you. I forgive you for whatever small slights have been making a barrier between us. This is a fresh year: let us start anew.

I feel better already.
